      Fort Funston Beach

A fifteen minute drive from the centre of town, Fort Funston beach is a great way to escape the city hustle and bustle.  Take a picnic and enjoy views of the sandstone cliffs above, and rolling Pacific waves.

      Mission Pool

Nestled in the heart of the trendy Mission district this public pool is a must.  With a couple of hours a day dedicated to lane swimming you can get a quick workout in before taking some poolside sun.

      El Techo

Check out this rooftop restaurant for fantastic Mexican food and some of the best views in town.  Make sure you book though as it gets busy every night and give the the mezcal margaritas a try, especially if you don’t have anything to get up for the next day!

      Golden Gate Bridge

We were lucky enough to cycle into the city over this famous bridge, spotting dolphins as we rode in.  If you’re not cycle touring however, you can very easily rent a bike for the day and see the city from the sea.  Sausalito, a beautiful town over the other side is a great place to have lunch and enjoy the view.

      Bernal Heights Park

This hillside park offers sweeping city views that you won’t find anywhere else.  Take a lap and then grab brunch at Precita Park Cafe on your way back into town.
